Now open in Singapore, the first Nanxiang Steamed Bun Restaurant dates back over a century and still remains a culinary icon at Shanghai's Cheng Huang Temple today. An established brand that has gained international status and undisputed popularity, Nanxiang continues its legacy of serving up the best award-winning "xiao long baos" (small steamed dumplings) here in Singapore.



Nanxiang serves the authentic Shanghainese xiao long bao the traditional way - a compact, meaty dumpling that's full of flavour. Besides the award-winning King Size Nanxiang Crab Roe Steam Soup Bun, Nanxiang offers 8 other flavors of xiao long bao that are unique to its kitchens. They include Fresh Pork (Original), Crabmeat & Pork, Mushroom, Vegetable & Pork, Shrimp & Pork, Crab Roe & Pork, Spicy Crab Roe & Pork and Crab Roe, Shark's Fin with Pork Xiao Long Bao.

  • The main dish is the Crabmeat and pork filling steamed buns which were skillfully crafted with tender meat filling and clear sweet juice. The king size Nanxiang Crab roe steam soup bun taste interesting. The soup in the big bun comes with a decent amount of crab roes and dried scallops but be very careful of the hot soup while drinking it with a straw.   • The King Sized Nanxiang Crab Roe Steamed Soup Bun managed to capture my palate with the sweet and fresh crab roe lingering in the hot broth within the giant steamed bun. The “Yuan Yang” Duck Tongue is a sheer delicacy. One type of it is perfumed with Chinese ‘hua diao’ wine and another type is braised in herb soy sauce broth. Both types taste unique and has a gelatinous bite to it.

  • Also, the Vermicelli with Crab Roe is a reinvention of a home-style dish with a Shanghainese touch to it by adding in their favourite ingredient, the Crab Roe, to give it a sweet and mouth-watering taste.   • Nanxiang now has the biggest variety of xiaolongbao around - at least ten types! The fillings include crab roe, mushroom, pork, shrimp, and vegetables. Each is a good mouthful of meat that retains a toothsome bite (Nanxiang's hallmark). So it's not finely minced meat like you might get at other restaurants. The skin is well-made and the broth flavoursome.

  • Prices are very affordable and the dishes are great for sharing, making it ideal for groups of friends or family. The newly revamped Nanxiang is certainly a "thumbs up" as their logo denotes!Camemberu
